What is a dental discount plan?

A dental discount plan is not insurance, but instead a membership that provides you access to discounts of 20%-50% on services from a large national network of dentists.

How does Alligator Dental work?

We provide you discount prices on dental services within our network for a set low monthly price. Sign a up for a membership, search for a dentist in your area that's covered by our network, and when you book an appointment let them know you are an Alligator Dental member covered by Careington, and you'll receive dental services at a discounted rate. It's that simple!

Who can buy an Alligator Dental membership?

Anyone! Alligator Dental could be a good fit for you if you: \n1. Are a student and don't have dental coverage through your parents\n2. Are a freelancer or are self-employed and must secure your own benefits\n3. Work for a small employer that does not offer dental benefits\n4. Are a senior and are looking for a delta program to complement your Medicare medical insurance\n5. Have traditional dental insurance that has large deductibles or co-pays, or has long waiting periods

Are there any hidden fees?

No! Alligator Dental charges a one-time setup fee and a small monthly subscription. That's it.

Can I get an Alligator card even when I have dental insurance?

Yes! On occasion it can even be cheaper to use your Alligator Dental card instead of insurance for some providers at some dentists.

Is Alligator Dental Insurance?

No. THIS PLAN IS NOT INSURANCE and is not intended to replace health insurance. There are no deductibles, coverage gaps, limits, or hidden fees.\n\nThis plan does not meet the minimum creditable coverage requirements under M.G.L. c.111M and 956 CMR 5.00. This plan is not a Qualified Health Plan under the Affordable Care Act. This is not a Medicare prescription drug plan. The range of discounts will vary depending on the type of provider and service. The plan does not pay providers directly. Plan members must pay for all services but will receive a discount from participating providers. A list of participating providers is available on this website. A written list of participating providers, and additional information about this plan, is available by writing to the address or calling the number below.\n\nAR and TN residents will be refunded the processing fee if cancelled during the 30-Day membership.

Who is Careington?

Careington provides us, Alligator, with our fantastic network of dentists all across the country. If your dentist hasn't heard of us yet, you can mention that Alligator is partnered with Careington and they'll be able to help you out.\nConsider this instead of the above: Careington is Alligator Dental's partner that manages the national network of dentists.

How can I know how much I'll be charged for a procedure?

You can ask your selected provider about the procedure and what the discounted rate is prior to your appointment.

How do I sign up?

All individual Framer subscriptions have been grandfathered into a Pro plan at your existing rate. If you were on a Small Team plan, then all 5 seats have been converted over to Pro seats at your existing rate. Regardless of your subscription plan, all new paid editors that you add to your subscription will be billed at the new plan rates.

How do I cancel?

You can cancel at anytime without any fees. Simply login to your account and go to the "my account" tab and hit the unsubscribe button. 

When does the membership kick in?

Immediately after signup. There is not any waiting period. You'll have immediate access to discounts on ALL services, including restorative procedures and services from specialists.
